APPLICATION
As stationary part of the Overfill Prevention System for liquid fuels, the explosion proof control device type EUS-2 complies with the European Standard 94/63/EG and the American requirements API RP 1004 for bottom-loading tank trucks.
HIGHTEST LEVEL OF FUNCTIONAL SAFETY
The Controller EUS-2 has been designed in full compliance with related European and American standards. Therefore the full compatibility to various counterpart truck equipment in different wiring configurations is ensured for the world-wide operation.
During loading of tank trucks, the level sensors at the tank truck (one sensor per tank compartment) are connected to the control device EUS-2 at the filling gantry by a standard plug and socket connector (6/7-pole plug according to American standard or 10-pole plug according to European standard).
The level sensors are positioned in the top of the tank compartments. The control device triggers to shutoff the product flow for all compartments once a sensor gets wet by a too high filling level (overfilling situation).
The vapour recovery hose connection is monitored on the tank truck via a pneumatic-controlled interlock switch, which is looped into the grounding verification line or alternatively into the circuit of the level sensors. As a result, the control device EUS-2 ensures that filling is only possible if the vapour recovery system and the grounding line are connected properly.
The type of explosion protection makes the control device applicable to Gas Group IIB for filling even pure Ethanol.
Level sensors, cable, connectors and the control device are specified by European Standard EN 13922 and American Standard API RP 1004.
